Sunny, Greg, Bret and Lisa have a combined 65-year track record as top sales and marketing professionals. Serving the Eastside as listing and buyer’s agents for the past 33 years, they have achieved the ultimate distinction of selling the most listings both in number and value in the greater Eastside area.
As Woodinville residents for over 32 years, Butler & Butler are devoted to the community. They have truly developed a reputation within the community and among agents both locally and nationally as the “Greater Eastside Experts.” This has been established through devoted service to their clients and to the community at large. As a result, the majority of their business is made up of referrals from local residents as well as other agents who respect their production and service results.
As a family team, Sunny and Greg, Bret and Lisa, married for 41 years and 8 years, respectively, have learned how effective teamwork establishes big results! Their goal is to take the stress out of buying or selling real estate and to establish life-long clients. They choose to devote themselves to their clients and to maintain that “one-on-one” relationship so important to establishing comfortable results-oriented service. While they work with a team of experts to produce maximum results every step of the way, clients work directly with them.

Bret Butler grew up in Woodinville and currently lives there with his wife and two kids. He earned a scholarship to the University of Southern California in 2000 earning a degree in Communication in 2004. His years at USC taught him to be a disciplined formidable competitor, as he was a starting pitcher on the Trojan baseball team. He was awarded the Marks Foundation Scholar Athlete for Excellence in Athletics and Academics, as well as the Pac 10 All Academic Team in 2003 and 2004. Upon graduation, he moved to Las Vegas where he began a career in wholesale finance earning the distinction of No. 1 in Production for Las Vegas, top 1% among Business Development Managers, and Platinum Producer for Sales Excellence for one of the nation’s largest lending institutions. His desire to return to the Seattle area never wavered, so the opportunity to merge into the family business in 2009 was a natural. With a strong background in sales and finance and growing up in a real estate family and now with a wife in real estate, his decision to be a part of Butler & Butler was a match in every way. Bret quickly rose in the ranks of Realtors for sales and customer service. In 2011, Bret was voted “Top 30 Under 30” realtors in the nation by the National Association of Realtors where he was featured on the cover of Realtor Magazine for his excellence and innovation in real estate. Bret was chosen among thousands of nominees for this prestigious nationally recognized honor. Bret has also been awarded the Five Star designation from 2010-2018 for his excellence in customer service and was also recently featured in Forbes Magazine as a Real Estate Market Leader for the Seattle area (2018). His extensive list of personal testimonials from the clients he has represented speaks volumes about his thorough and professional representation on behalf of his clients.
Greg is a 35-year veteran in real estate. He is a graduate of California State University at Long Beach with a Bachelors Degree in Economics and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. He launched his career in the pharmaceutical industry where he earned the distinct honor of Salesperson of the Year for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.
Greg transitioned into real estate in 1981, attaining his Broker’s license and has owned his own real estate office in Eastern Washington. After moving to Western Washington, he helped start up the Windermere Bellevue Commons Office as the Managing Broker. He is well respected among his peers and has earned the distinction of agent of the year for Windermere on three occasions.
Greg is a “pro” in contract negotiations and successfully closing transactions. His expertise as a broker, long time veteran in real estate contracts and law, and broad knowledge of each step in the real estate process ensures that our clients receive knowledgeable advice and that their interests are protected each step of the way in order to achieve maximum results.
Sunny has been a sales and marketing executive for the past 35 years. She is a graduate of California State University at Long Beach and holds a Bachelors Degree in Health Science and a Master of Science Degree in Public Health. She was the Director of Graduate and Undergraduate Programs in Health Administration at Whitworth College. After 8 years of College teaching, she became the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Blue Cross of Washington and Alaska. Within two years she was responsible for more than doubling sales production and was recruited away by Group Health as their Vice President of Marketing. After the birth of her daughter, Brooke, she became International Vice President of Marketing for EMC2. Greg finally recruited her away from the corporate world to join him in real estate . . . and they said it couldn’t be done!
Sunny brings to the table a strong background in sales and marketing and leads the marketing efforts on behalf of Butler & Butler, a marketing approach that is among the most aggressive and extensive locally and nationally. Each of our clients receive a unique and specific strategic plan for their home that is above and beyond the standard approach to ensure a consistent and sustained marketing effort in every facet available in order to net the most possible for our clients.
The family slogan “A Family Tradition of Real Estate Excellence” was fulfilled with the addition of Lisa Butler, daughter-in-law to Sunny and Greg and wife to Bret. A high standard of excellence is not new to Lisa. After graduating Cum Laude from the University of Southern California where she studied Business Administration and Communications, Lisa was recruited away to begin her own real estate career. She spent 6 years with two of the nation’s leading homebuilders, Pulte Homes and D.R. Horton, where she was responsible for the representation and sales negotiation of several hundred new construction homes, earning several awards for excellence in sales production and customer satisfaction.
Lisa grew up in Bakersfield, CA where she developed an appreciation for family tradition and a small town atmosphere making Woodinville/Redmond and Butler & Butler a match in every way.
Lisa brings to the table a very corporate structure, with an emphasis on customer service, maximizing market exposure of your home, as well as an inherent knowledge of today’s buyer. Lisa and Bret have quickly risen in the ranks of the new generation of leading real estate professionals, and together, with Sunny and Greg, are recognized as the most respected, reliable and results-oriented team on the Eastside.
