Bear Creek Studios – Woodinville, WA

The influence of the Seattle music scene can be felt all the way out in Woodinville. Located just outside this idyllic Eastside city, the Bear Creek Studios is a professional recording residential studio that has been used by many of the world’s greatest musical talents. Some of the top acts that have enjoyed making music at this venue include Foo Fighters, Modest Mouse, Brandi Carlile, The Lumineers, Train, Soundgarden, Eric Clapton, and Lionel Richie.

LOCATION:

This venerable studio is located on a secluded 10-acre horse farm. Musical artists love the rural farmhouse location that provides peace and tranquility when recording music. Bear Creek Studios was originally established in 1977 when Joe and Manny Hadlock converted a 750-square-foot 1900 dairy barn into a modern recording studio with all of the latest equipment and production pieces.

ADDITIONS:

The establishment is now operated by the Hadlock’s son, Ryan. Since its 1977 opening, the studio has undergone a few renovations and expansions in order to keep it functioning at the highest levels. In 1993, the barn was doubled with a 2,000-square foot addition. The main recording studio was expanded to be able to accommodate a 40-piece orchestra. Five years later, the control room was modernized and expanded. The latest addition to the WA Bear Creek Studios came in 2014 when the owners built a recording studio in a treehouse located on the property. By continuing to reinvent itself, the property has emerged as a destination recording studio.

RESIDENTIAL ELEMENTS:

What makes Bear Creek Studios stand out from its competitors is its residential element. Not only does this property come equipped with a state-of-the-art recording studio, but it also boasts residential quarters so that the artists can stay on site. This allows them to work freely and not have to commute back and forth to the studio when recording an album.

Directly above the studio is a second-floor loft that houses two private rooms with five total beds. Recognizing the need for more residential space, the owners added a separate cabin separate from the accommodations in the studio. Known as the producer’s cabin, this space features a queen sized bed, television set, and it’s own bathroom all looking out into the grounds of the lovely farm. Lastly, the property also offers a fully-furnished 1920’s farmhouse. The four bedrooms can house up to six people, giving the artists and their team plenty of space to spread out. The available maid and catering services make a stay at this studio stress-free.

The expertly trained staff of engineers and producers ensure that the artists receive the best experience when recording music at this property. The unique studio is reflective of the laid-back way of life in Woodinville and its environs.
